The MAN EfficientCruise ® tempomat with GPS control recognizes ascents and descents on the upcoming section of traffic using maps loaded into memory. This allows you to carefully adjust the movement of the truck in automatic mode, i.e. purposefully gain acceleration before the start of the climb and reduce the speed at the end when passing the top. The use of EfficientCruise for long-distance or short-distance transportation provides a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 6 % - without losing travel time. Even after a long stay of the bus in the driving mode, MAN EfficientCruise ® is able to adjust the movement of the throttle extremely sensitively, so that the driver can fully concentrate on driving the bus.
Within the limits of the speed set by the driver and its maximum deviation, MAN EfficientCruise ® calculates the speed of movement that, from the point of view of fuel consumption, is optimally suitable for overcoming the ascent and descent, and, accordingly, corrects the current speed.As the traffic intensity increases, the requirements for truck drivers increase. The MAN control concept allows the driver to fully concentrate on the road. With the help of the multifunctional steering wheel, the driver can control the tempomat and bremzomat, as well as the radio/CD player, without releasing the steering wheel.
An important part of this innovation is the central display on the instrument panel, which displays the selected functions.
A quick glance at the display is enough for the driver to get the information necessary to choose an economical driving style.Motion dynamics adjustment system
If there is a threat of skidding or overturning of the car, the driver must quickly assess the situation and react to it in order to regain control of the car. The ESP system constantly monitors the dynamics of the car's movement and automatically interferes with the operation of the brake system and the engine management system in case of a threat of skidding or overturning. Thanks to this, the ESP system is able to assess dangerous situations faster than the most experienced drivers and keep the car under control within the limits of physical capabilities. A typical emergency situation – high turn speed, slippery road surface, emergency braking and a sharp detour maneuver-can be mitigated by reducing the probability of an accident.
